Third Place Books is a Seattle-area book store that does a fabulous job of bringing national and local authors into the store to do readings. A few times a year they dedicate a budget to produce a special limited edition letterpress printed broadside for these events. (Read about the series.)
The broadside shown here is to commemorate author Jonathan Raban’s February 2007 reading of Surveillance. Though inspired by letter forms & ornaments found in a letterpress shop, the design was created on the computer and printed from photopolymer plates on Daniel Smith Lenox paper using a Vandercook SP-15 press.
